Under Water, Under Earth

by Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski

Kids' Book of the Week , October 17, 2016

For all the kids and grown-ups who have loved this young Polish couple's Maps (it's been one of our most popular kids' books ever since we opened), their new book, equally oversized and equally quirky and informative, will be a delight. One half dives underwater to investigate everything from anglerfish to oil rigs; flip it over to dig under the earth (my favorite half), which becomes a tribute to human, animal, and plant ingenuity (their tunneling sometimes looks startlingly similar). There's even a shout-out to Bertha, patiently grinding its way under our very own downtown. (4 and up)
