They All Saw a Cat
by Brendan Wenzel
Kids' Book of the Week , September 19, 2016
How does a dog, or a snake, or a nocturnal skunk see a cat? Brendan Wenzel's picture book shows you the same cat through the specialized eyes of several different creatures. It's incredibly simple on the surface, but the marvelous illustrations give the book many layers of perspective that kids (and adults) will love talking about. In fact, it's my pick for next year's Caldecott Award winner. A cat book for creature enthusiasts! (3 and up)
