In our kitchen we have a shelf for our most-used cookbooks. And on this shelf there is one cookbook that is (clearly) the most used of all: the previous edition of America's Test Kitchen's Family Cookbook. If you know ATK, you know they tend toward the practical and explanatory, which makes this giant volume ideal for covering your cooking basics. For reasons I don't understand, though, they've let their flagship cookbook go out of print, so when I saw the most recent edition was available through our remainders dealer, I stocked up!
