The Great Piratical Rumbustification & The Librarian and the Robbers

My new and fanatical devotion to How Tom Beat Captain Najork and His Hired Sportsmen led me to this kindred item, also from the '70s and also illustrated with chaotic glee by Quentin Blake. If you think a story in which a babysitting service makes sure that the parents have a good supply of rum for the babysitters (and in which there are many opportunities to say the word "rumbustification") sounds promising, and if you think a tale of a librarian kidnapped by robbers who uses her research skills to care for their measles is likely to delight, then this is your book. (6 and up)
