The Grand Expedition

Kids' Book of the Week , August 13, 2018
To Amundsen and Zheng He and Armstrong and the list of other great explorers add our two young heroes, who decide to go on an expedition. They set up a tent in the backyard, bring treats (and when those run out, pickles), find a squashed ant, and only return when they get bored (and one of them has to poop). This low-key Swedish charmer is as much a celebration of everyday coziness as it is of adventure, and I adore their wry dad's yellow turtleneck. (Age 2 to 5)
