The Antlered Ship

by Post Kids #28

Kids' Book of the Week , April 9, 2018

Marco the fox has questions—"Why don’t trees ever talk? How deep does the sun go when it sinks into the sea?"—and none of the other foxes seem to care about the answers, so he joins the crew on a passing ship and sets off on an adventure that might lead readers to other questions, like "Why does this ship have such gloriously massive antlers?" and "Why does the cover of this book feel like it's been coated with a layer of crystals?" The story itself is charming, funny, strange, and moving, but the weird beauty of the book is of the kind that makes you think there are further adventures to be had even beyond its pages. Magical. (Ages 2 to 5)
