Rosemary's Baby
by Ira Levin
Old Book of the Week , November 13, 2017
Speaking of Rosemary's Baby! You've likely seen the Mia Farrow/John Cassavetes 1968 horror classic, but have you read Ira Levin's novel from the year before? It's fantastic: a tale of the occult that, on its wonderfully plain-spoken surface, seems to have more to do with the mid-'60s New York City of Bendel's shop windows, Broadway gossip, and the Time magazine "Is God Dead?" issue than with the demonic forces gathering around an expectant mother and her child, who, as it turns out, "has His Father's eyes."
