Pagoo

Nostalgia time! As I was growing up, there were few books more holy on the shelves of my naturalist mother (or her naturalist mother) than Holling's illustrated tale of a hermit crab making his way in the beautiful and treacherous world of a tide pool. Are there any books like this these days, dense with text and fact but wrapped up in a ripping tale that makes the life of little Pagurus ("Pagoo" for short) as dramatic as any hero's journey? There should be! (Age 5 to 8)
