Hilda and the Troll

by Luke Pearson

Kids' Book of the Week , June 5, 2017

What a cozy little adventure! Hilda lives in the mountains and likes to draw, camp out, and wander in the woods: she's awfully appealing, and so is the world she investigates, which has just enough deadpan strangeness—a stone troll who comes alive at night, a little man made out of wood who reveals his existential anxiety—to make each day seem extraordinary. This is the first of Pearson's quietly delightful, Tintin-sized comic books (we have two more), all of which are perfect for your own little adventurers. (6 and up)
