Phinney Kids by Post #10

You don't need to know that Have You Seen My Trumpet? completes Escoffier and Di Giacomo's "Word-Play Trilogy" (after Take Away the A and Where's the Baboon?) to understand that it's a total hoot. The word play is part of it—finding the "bat" in the "bathroom" and the "mole" in the "guacamole" will be fun for young readers just figuring out words. But the real fun comes from the drawings, full of wit and personality on every page. Knowing that an "owl" is inside "fishbowl" is one thing; seeing an owl stoically crammed inside one is another thing entirely. (2 and up)
