The story (a Caldecott Honor winner from 1976 just now brought back into print) is as simple as its endearingly simple pen-and-ink illustrations. A grandmother wakes up early, has breakfast, cleans up quickly, and packs to spend the day fishing in her rowboat on a lake, after which she comes home, cooks the fish for dinner, cleans up, and goes to bed so she can wake up early to do the same the next day. Oh, how I love this little book and its celebration of a woman who does as she pleases! (Age 2 to grandmother)
