Well, I tried to choose a favorite between these charming new picture books and I couldn't, so I'm recommending them both: Finding Wild, a lovely and subtle but approachable appreciation of the wildness all around us, scary, soothing, surprising, and resilient, and Douglas, You Need Glasses!, an amiably goofy tale of a nearsighted dog that will appeal not just to glasses-needing young readers but to anyone who wants to laugh along with Douglas's wide-eyed persistence. Two very different books that tell their well-chosen stories with imagination and style. (Ages 2 to 5)
