Bear for a Day

Local favorite Corey R. Tabor's new picture book, Bear for a Day, puts readers in the driver's seat (literally, since this bear rides a motorcycle). Each page's illustration is from the bear's perspective, so you see his beary paws doing things like holding his cereal bowl, opening the door, and gripping the motorcycle handlebars as he goes off in search of his friend Mouse. As the narrator describes the bear's day, other voices chime in and we find out the story is being read aloud by a boy in school (who is taking some liberties in his report on bears). Tabor's colorful, collage-style art delights in this innovative book that plays with storytelling.
