Ada Twist, Scientist

Ada Twist, by the same team that brought us Rosie Revere, Engineer and Iggy Peck, Architect, is already one of our picture-book hits of the year, so perhaps I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. But if you don't: Ada Twist is terrific, in every way: Beaty's sprightly, language-loving rhymes, Roberts's illustrations, overflowing with detail and personality (Ada's mom's dresses alone are a tale in themselves), and a story that captures the insatiable, sometimes infuriating curiosity of a true scientist. This one's a keeper. (Ages 2 to 5)
